Environmental Laboratory Response Network (eLRN) Briefing for OSCs
- Allan E. Antley, EPA OEM
The events of September 11, 2001, and the subsequent anthrax attacks, clearly demonstrated that the U.S. environmental laboratory infrastructure requires better organization in order to analyze the high volume of environmental samples that may result from terrorist incidents. EPA is implementing a Homeland Security Laboratory Response Program (HSLRP) that will focus on development of a national environmental lab system that builds on existing networks and capabilities. The presentation will inform participants of the national approach to homeland security laboratory efforts and specific activities of the Agency to build the environmental Laboratory Response Network (eLRN).
